Tyrone Blackmon - Founder

What’s going on? I’m Tyrone! Born and raised in St. Louis, MO but currently reside in Chicago, IL. I am a Consultant within the Accounting and Finance industry and a lifestyle blogger that loves fashion and travel, among other things. You’ll catch all that on the blog! 

I started backtoBLACK because – in the accounting space – it gets rough being either the only or one of the chosen few. A struggle I know is not unique to me. backtoBLACK is meant to be a place to authentically be myself, explore the different parts of who I am, and to inspire others to do the same. As most black people, we are extremely layered and have to wear quite a few hats in this world. So, I will touch on all things that we know and love: travel adventures, fashion, lifestyle advice, film and cinema. Just staying true to myself and completely authentic. 

By no means is this meant to be just for black people. Rather, backtoBLACK is a place that is meant to for everyone to celebrate our uniqueness and champion our lifestyles and perspectives that make us different.
